Where does U2 Rank In Your Life?

So my 7 year old son asked me the other day, “Do you love me?”  He loves to get me going with these ridiculous questions that he knows the answers to, but the other day he followed it up with another question that took me quite by surprise…”Do you love me more than U2?”  After pondering my answer for a few minutes, I said….”No”…. but it got me thinking, “What do I love more than U2”?  I mean, a lot of fans say that U2 is the soundtrack of their lives, but where does U2 stack in the scheme of things, if we’re prioritizing and truly being honest with ourselves….uno, dos, tres, catorce?

U2’s music is always there.  Unlike people, it won’t betray you (NLOTH came very close, though) it won’t let you down, leave you lonely or nag you to death to do more chores around the house.  U2’s music doesn’t care if you watch tv with nothing on but your tighty whities and a 6 pack of Budlight.  U2 doesn’t care if you go to work or pay bills.  It doesn’t want you to call or text if you are going to be late.  It does none of that.

So, when push comes to shove, where does U2 rank in my life….I guess you could say that I should have married U2….but don’t tell my wife.
