I Am Thankful For U2!

Tomorrow being Thanksgiving here in the United States, I thought it would be the perfect time to say what I am thankful for in the U2 world.

I am thankful for…

U2 introducing me to a map.  Without U2, I would probably still think that Sarajevo, El Salvador & Burma were cigars rather than places.

Making NLOTH.  Without this bomb, I wouldn’t truly appreciate great U2 CD’s.

Providing SOI free.  Illegally downloading all other U2 Cd’s was starting to weigh on my conscious.

A fan base that is just as psychotic as I am about U2.  It’s nice to know that I’m not the only nut out there.

U2 introducing me to both One & Red.  Knowing that I donate to them, I don’t feel as bad pretending to be on the phone while walking by the Salvation Army volunteer ringing the bell.

Larry Mullen Jr. hating NLOTH as much as I do.

Fan meet ups where we can put a face with the other U2 nuts on our Twitter & Face Book feeds.

Bono getting hurt in the country with the best doctors in the world.  I wonder if Bono had to wait in the Emergency Room for 5 hours like the rest of us slobs?

That a few people truly hate Bono.  Their hatred warms my heart.

England & Ireland still harbor some resentment towards each other.  I am convinced that U2 came to America years before they probably would have, if not for that resentment.

Boston’s own Carter Allen, the 1st American DJ to hear something in U2’s music and play them when no one else would.

Introducing me to my European friends David, Ana, Daniel, Pam and Cheryl who most have Skyped into my classroom and added to not only my students knowledge, but also mine.  I didn’t forget you either Leeny, Jim or Deena or Deana, but I did forget Tam…where is he?

U2.com’s defunct blogging section where I met all these aforementioned nuts.

Saving this lost soul with their music.

U2 providing me with a great life.

These are just a few things that I am thankful for this Thanksgiving.  Have a safe and joyous Thanksgiving to all of my American friends and to my European friends…GET BACK TO WORK!  😉

Many of my Twitter & Face Book followers leave comments via those two social media outlets.  If you register here at U2radio.com and start leaving your comments here, maybe we can pry a U2radio.com T-shirt for the best “Thankful” comment.
