U2 are in pole position to win an Oscar after the supergroup picked up a gong at the 71st Golden Globes in Hollywood.
The band won the Best Original Song award for their ‘Ordinary Love’ track, which features in the Nelson Mandela biopic, ‘Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.’
The Globes are the traditional curtain raiser for awards season in Hollywood, and a good barometer as to what might come at the Academy Awards.
