You: On a Diet of U2 News

I apologize for the play on a dated book title, but here’s just so much happening in our little fan community world this week that it feels like we’re consuming U2 updates, U2 articles and U2 tour scoops like they’re food – delicious, nutritious meals followed by decadent chocolate desserts. Like many of you, I have two things on my mind right now: 1.) The Tonight Show (tonight! Although by the time you read this, it will probably be, “Yesterday!”) and 2.) the setlist for the tour. Thanks to an awesome guy named Peter (who is somehow connected to the stealthy filmer of the Pacific Coliseum door), we know these songs have been rehearsed…let’s freak out together, shall we?

SOI/Current Songs:

California (There Is No End To Love), Cedarwood Road, Every Breaking Wave (full band and acoustic versions), Invisible, Iris (Hold Me Close), The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone), Ordinary Love, Raised By Wolves, Song For Someone, The Troubles, Volcano

And…(shriek!)…old songs:

Angel Of Harlem, Bad, Beautiful Day, Bullet The Blue Sky, City Of Blinding Lights, Desire, Elevation, Even Better Than The Real Thing, I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For, I Will Follow, Magnificent, Miracle Drug, Moment Of Surrender, Mysterious Ways, No Line On The Horizon, One, One Step Closer, Out Of Control (AAAAAH!), Playboy Mansion (seriously? Okay, fine), Pride, Running To Stand Still, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Sweetest Thing, The Electric Co., The Fly, The Ground Beneath Her Feet, The Hands That Built America, Tryin’ To Throw Your Arms Around The World, Until The End Of The World, Vertigo, Where The Streets Have No Name, and With Or Without You

I know…I KNOW! How can we possibly work, raise our children and pay attention to world events when so much is going on in the world of U2? This is one of those times when I wish I lived in a country where it’s perfectly acceptable, and financially feasible, to take two months off of work just because. But then I’d have to wait until the European tour to see them, so I guess that’s no good. Oh well – at least it’s the weekend and Mother’s Day! Mommy’s going to be in a warm bath with a glass of pinot grig, listening to Bono sing Bullet the Blue Sky behind a 5-inch door for an audience of no one and she’s going to relish every minute of it. I hope you’re enjoying your U2 news diet too!
