The U2 Joshua Tree tour of 2019 will kick off this Friday (8 November) in Auckland, New Zealand

This tour will give fans a chance to hear the entire ‘The Joshua Tree album live.

“It’s only taken me 30 years to learn how to sing these songs,” Bono said in a statement. “And it’s great to be able to say that I’ve finally caught up with the band. Our audience has given The Joshua Tree a whole new life on this tour”.

The Joshua Tree tracklisting is:

Where The Streets Have No Name
I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For
With Or Without You
Bullet The Blue Sky
Running To Stand Still
Red Hill Mining Town
In God’s Country
Trip Through Your Wires
One Tree Hill
Exit
Mothers of the Disappeared

The early shows opened with four early hits followed from The Joshua Tree from start to finish. You’ll likely get another seven or eight songs in the encores to follow. Previously shows had maybe one song from the last album ‘Songs of Experience’ but every other song has been 15 years or older.

Bono added, “Doing these shows has been very special for us, a lot of emotion… From the despair of how relevant some of the dark songs still are, to the joy, pure fun of the staging… it’s quite a ride. And now we get to do it all over again. Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul, Mumbai… We’re coming for you.”
