U2’s Sarajevo Concert Raises Almost No Money

U2’s September foray to the war-torn city of Sarajevo has been called a humanitarian mission. It can’t be called much else, because the enormous concert raised next to no money for the former Yugoslavia. According to a French newswire, after expenses, the Irish rockers managed to raise a mere $13,500 to help residents recover from the forty-three-month civil war. Almost forty-five thousand fans paid $11 apiece to see the September 23 concert, the first in Sarajevo since the war ended, in 1995.
